Presumably to confirm John Gooch was the father she admitted have a ‘connection’ on March 1831 with Edward Chandler, a young whitesmith from Tofts near Haddiscoe, but only once.

    A large circle of friends will hear with deep regret of the death of William Chandler, an old and highly respected citizen of this city which occured very suddenly fore noon having been smitten with an attack of paralysis about half hour previous.
